With heat distortion rising from the ballast, BNSF 5299 West blasts through West Sanborn at track speed.
In the distance, BNSF 4765 West rounds the curve at West Sanborn. In four miles this train will be off of home rails, and on UPs Mojave Sub for its journey over Tehachapi Pass.
A westbound BNSF mixed freight is seen at least a mile down the mainline at the west end of Sanborn siding esat of Mojave. He came flying by me at a pretty good clip!
