A Norfolk Southern mixed freight tiptoes quitely through the ritzy neighborhoods of Old Metairie, careful not to blow its horn for fear of disturbing the residents.

On the "Back Belt", and awaiting their turn to cross I-10, a few horses sit alongside City Park. Several art deco bridges are in place along this line, some a little worse for wear.
