Remarks: Earlier in the day 42 was under repair, so it was a nice surprise to find her being tested out on the turntable by the shop crew that evening. I appreciated their patience in allowing me to get a few photos before she was put away. Taken with permission.
Remarks: I had to ferry one of our aircraft to Charleston for an aircraft swap. I arrived after dark. I wanted to do some railfanning. I found that the NS yard was just 1/4 mile east of my hotel. I had no tripod so I set my camera on my backpack on top of my rental car and used the self timer. I flashed my two flashes manually while the shutter was open.
