Remarks: The first of a 3 train parade heads south through Andover, Mn. Three in a row is a pretty rare occurrence on this line, so when the dispatcher told a northbound train they were meeting three southbound, we packed up and headed over.

Remarks: After a long stretch of rain and clouds, the sun finally gives way to a nice foreign surprise. The train, behind all CN power, glides toward Northtown yard, thus ending its run on the Staples Subdivision.

Barriles is the end of the catenary on the line that goes to the Maria Elena mine. The electrics only work the hill section. The catenary has been removed beyond the Barriles yard.

Remarks: NS #145 gets rolling again after a 20+ minute delay at the hands of the I&M operator controlling this interlocking. Dragging this auto parts-laden train over the diamond today are NS 9572 - BNSF 7438 - BNSF 4820. Foreign power is common again on the Springfield-Hannibal district.
