HLCX GP38-3 #1000, leased to the San Luis and Rio Grande, prepares to couple back up to the remainder of its mixed train as the conductor picks up new orders.

Following a flanger spreader train that will help clear the new snow over Cumbres, the 480 leads the regular doubleheaded Monday freight west past the Alamosa yard limits.
