A little bit of sun came out to play on this winter day in Northern California, as a westbound Capital Train rolls through Bahia.

The eastbound California Zephyr leaves Crockett and the C&H Sugar plant behind him.

The second westbound stack train of the morning rolls along San Pablo bay in Hercules.

The local power out of Ozol Yard near Martinez heads west to Oakland for fuel and servicing. This is a normal Sunday ritual along the Cal-P.

Amtrak Unit 1 leads the California Zephyr past the abandoned site of the town of Eckley. It's now a beautiful little park and fishing pier. This photo was taken while sitting at a picnic table.

Amtrak 11 surges out of the Davis Amtrak station with AMTK #90 leading and putting out a lot of smoke. This train is trying to make up time considering its leaving 5 hours late.

After being stopped in East Davis for awhile due to a UP manager on the main, UP 7922 gets back on the move and heads west towards its final destination of Oakland.

As the day comes to an end, this big GE seems to swallow the sun whole as it rolls by southbound at Swanston crossovers in Sacramento, CA.

One of the two P32-8BWH's on Amtrak California's roster pushes a Sacramento-bound Capitol Corridor Eastbound, along the San Pablo Bay.

Hopefully the passengers onboard #5 enjoy the sunset over the San Pablo Bay, all while gathering their belongings for the final stop, Emeryville, which comes in 20 minutes.

Union Pacific 2028 leads the Folsom Turn back south from Roseville towards East Sacramento for a long night of switching.
