A dramatic early morning shot of Erie-Lackawanna power on a B&M freight at the old Hoosac Tunnel. We had heard of foreign power on the Mechanicville to Boston run. Now we knew it was real.
For some reason, in 1964 EL crews preferred F unit cabs over Century cabs. The big Alcos were usually on the rear position on multi units.
This unit did not divulge a number. But I surmised it was either an F3 or F2. It sure did look like a well maintained antique.
