GP40 #220 leads the way on a westbound freight at Brookshire,Tx (35 miles west of Houston). An agent was still present in the town as evidenced by the order board above the last engine.

Apparently, this was an Alco RS-3 that has been repowered from an EMD GP9.

Not sure what this is. Looks like the long cowl from an early GP7 or 9, but the cab, trucks, undercarriage and short hood appear to be from some type of Alco. Maybe an RS-1? Any ideas?
