After waiting its turn in the North La Crosse Yard, the vehicle train finally blasts off and heads east.

DM&E passenger train heads past the La Crosse Amtrak Depot. Just around the bend past the photographer is the old wye track where this train would be parked for the night.

CP train 499 crosses a flooding Mississippi River on its trip west. Recent heavy rain to the north have caused the big river to go over flood stage at an unusual time of the year.
