Originally TC, this unit was switching. At times it was a slug mom but on this date the unit was teamed with a C420. I wish now we had shot some of those US Steel hoppers.

"Hammerhead" might be a fitting nickname. Unfortunately this is not as ugly as they got when they were turned into B-units. I wonder if one may be mouldering away somewhere but suspect... (more)

Three things relatively rare even when built. Two FMs and my old 1986 Nissan Stanza wagon. I rode them all and cherished the Nissan, aka Mable. Someone needs to revisit that design.

I hesitated uploading a long hood shot but this is a good study of a classic unit from the business end. I loved SP's wonderful variety.
