NS train 065 begins the climb up the mountain at control point Slope in Altoona, Pennsylvania, with Bennett Levin's E8's and private cars, bound for Chicago.

Did PRR and SOO ever serve the same terminal? I doubt it, but this shot reminds me of those great pictures at passenger terminals with a variety of colorful motive power.

Its still before sunrise as PRR E8s 5711 and 5809 pass through Edison. They will be on an all day excursion covering much of Conrail's Shared Assets track in North New Jersey.
