Camel backs had their place in history but....could you imagine sitting on top of a hot locomotive boiler on a hot Summer day? The poor fireman also had to go back a forth to tend his fire and I have read that a broken side rod could really wreak havoc on the crew cab by thrashing it severely. Nice camel back photo...but I wouldn't want to work there!
