Macon, hey, we lived in Macon in 1970s!
Summers there were, umm, interesting, 83F and ten-bazillion percent humidity :D
I learned to drive there, and will say this about that regarding driving on red clay dirt roads,
when they were rain-soaked, the driving experience was akin to what could be described as driving on marbles in Vaseline. I used to have an Athearn HO scale 40ft wood sided boxcar in SOU paint which had been weathered with actual red clay dust; but somewhere in the intervening decades it has sadly gone missing.
