I've always wondered how crew members on snowplows must feel when they do this. Moving at 40 or 50 mph while you can't see anything must surely be very hair-raising at times!

There are videos of the KYLE plowing on YouTube. The MOW crews go out ahead of the plow train to spot crossings and when they can, drifts from the highway and radio back to the engine crew.

As Patrick suggest, what sort of speeds do these guys usually plough on (no pun intended) at? Those locos must have incredible power to achieve 40-50 mph through deep snow!

Is this the day this plow later derailed at a crossing and the lead locomotive almost ended up on her side? I believe they left the plow where it derailed for years.
