Even though I consider myself as being "old-school", a train does not seem complete without a caboose. You only see them once in a blue moon being used. Then the so-called wisdom of the railroads got rid of them and laid off a lot of rail workers not to mention depot workers. One of them being my cousin and he never was re-hired by the railroad after riding in a caboose for fifteen years.
