Chinatown was right up the street and what a treat. Didn't have to go far for some good chop suey or pork fried rice. Went to school up the street at Bailey Gatzert. Cool area, lots of mischief and fun as a youngster. The train station and waterfront were great friends along with my amigos as we had bikes and could travel to far away lands raiding cherry trees as well as apple an plum trees. We were real bikers. Its funny but I still remember that tree and a yard switchmans bldg. just outta the photo to the right and a Salvation Army store across the street that we would frequent looking at all the junk that a kid needs fer a real deal at a modest price. As of feb 2020 the S.A. is being torn down but the trains keep on rolling by an bye.
