Surprises me that the railroads have not had EOT equipment built into their passenger cars.

mmi16 - Fair observation to make, though there would be dozens of cars that would never have their EOT used. Business car trains almost always heave rear-platform or theater cars as their last one. Seeing a dome car bring up the markers on this train in particular was fairly unusual, per usual practices these days.

UP in it's passenger days did have dome observation cars.. For how much the carriers spend on their business car fleets - the costs of a permanent EOT for the normal tail end cars in the fleet would be chump change in comparison to the other costs.
