Nice black and white photo! Operating push/pull on the Strasburg RR, the J had to have her pilot coupler exposed which is normally tucked behind her streamlined front end.

The late Stu Kuyper would have been thrilled to see the 4-8-0 he once owned rebuilt, running and putting on a magnificent show. It was intended to run between Des Moines and Pella, Iowa on the Rock Island, but that project died with Stu. That portion of the Rock Island is also a distant memory.
