Thanks go to Union Pacific for making the effort to bring a "Big Boy" back to life but also for the "Challenger" and "No. 944". No matter if it is a 0-4-0 or a 4-8-8-4 and everything else in between, I love to listen to the sounds of a steamer. That includes the diesels as well. The growl of those big diesel engines with the turbos spinning thrill me. Since 5 years old and now 64, I have always watched trains! I drive a truck for a living and the sound of the diesel engine under the hood whether running highway speed or just idling is very appealing to me. I live in Tennessee above LaFallotte, next to the CSX KD Subdivision and I watch and listen to the the trains every chance I get when I am home especially when they are climbing a grade. The sights, the sounds, and the smell of burnt diesel fuel is awesome.
