John West noticed the same thing(s) I did...3 smokejacks on that caboose! Couldn't let the Canadians one-up us with their twin stove/heater vans, eh?

One might be a vent for a potty, but that still leaves two for....two stoves? Or maybe there is an exhaust for a diesel generator, a stove, and a potty?

I have lived in the Portage, In. area all of my 57 years,and know this intersection well. There are more than 2 tracks that intersect here!!
It is a great shot. The building was torn down YEARS ago, but many trains pass through here! So many that the state built an overpass to keep traffic flowing through town.
Thank you for a piece of my past, I was 17 when you took the picture, still on my 10 speed!!
