Murphy City was my first encounter with the Erie Mining as a 10-year old in 1979. My father was stationed at the small radar base (USAF) in Finland, Minnesota in the early 60's, and he & Mom took my sister and I camping there in '79. While I have been back to that area several times since then, I only saw one train operating on that line, at Cramer tunnel, in 1991. Such a shame to see as it is now.
