The car was built as a 21 roomette sleeper. It and others in the "Inn" class were converted to coaches by PRR in 1963-64. Many served after Amtrak's inception in local commuter services, and several now survive on heritage and tourist operations.

Amazing how large diameter rubber tubing has replaced all the mechanical and canvas pieces in diaphragm service these days.
