Interesting that the inner rail on the curve is jointed rail while the outer rail just has one joint.

Those could be rail supports, not joints, on the inside rail. These are often seen on the inside rail of a curve as it will be subject to more force than the outside rail. We need someone with MOW experience to confirm or deny my supposition.

If my memory isn't too foggy, those are rail braces rather than joint bars. Regardless, this has to be my favorite S-curve in the universe!

They are indeed "Chair Braces" reinforcing the pressure side of the curve. They were used all over the Pass including most notably the west turnout of T-Pass siding.
