Amazing what was out and about along the rails in 1938! I find it rather odd, however, lol - despite the aesthetic goal of the designer, and of course, the intent to streamline - the choice to keep the well known smoke box handle - or, and even if, it's a handle for the shroud only. Nice shot, Georg - glad to see one preserved!
