It's nice to know that the local school system is exposing the kids to the rail heritage and history that Altoona has. Having been to Altoona many times, I am amazed just how little the locals in Altoona know how important Altoona was (and is) to the railroad industry. While Altoona isn't the railroad industry mecca it once was, there is a lot of PRR history from that area.
