Another much-appreciated photo, Mike. Got a question: What would have made all the scratches and gouges above the engine access doors ??? Just curious. I had years working on jets for the Air Guard and there is usually a story somewhere. Thanks

Tom, the red stripe above the doors is actually a Scotchlite reflective material. The damage you see is from the many hours of extreme heat from a hard-working prime mover located directly below, essentially scorching the Scotchlite.

Thanks for the reply, Mike. That makes sense about the heat, but I've never been close to a modern locomotive. NS, BNSF, and KCSR come through my town, but not many stops here anymore.
