Let's see, 2018 minus 1979, they would be 39 years older now. Wonder if we could track down their senior citizen retirement homes and ask.

This now has me wondering about those turnbuckle link style couplers - what winter difficulties might be had with them? Did buffers ever freeze stuck and not compress? What happened then, was it really an issue? Anyone from places those are/were used have any stories to tell?

Boy does this bring back memories. I drive under the Brooks Ave. rail bridge all the time.
