I believe Tom only worked it from Lacrosse to Milwaukee. Back in those days, Lacrosse was the crew change point of the River and Lacrosse divisions. When he was a Road Foreman he would travel to the cities from my understanding.

Interesting photo. I remember the F7's going through my town (Jacksonville, IL) back in the 50's, There was no need to look for them, they were easily recognized by their rolling engine sound.
Regarding your comments on Tom Farence: I've commented several times on his great photos and write-ups. I've always asked him to do a book. No doubt it would be popular and much appreciated.
