1979...when a railfan could still get up close and personal with the railroads as evidenced by what I am going to assume is a son or daughter of the photographer patiently abiding dads infatuation with trains by sitting on a tie pile trackside. The days. They were good. A very cool picture of eastern industrial railroading.
