I've only seen them... static, in the white black and red scheme. That was an odd livery. The red, white and blue looked "Amtrak", if not dated. I see the "Acela" theme here though might not have if you did not mention it. Shame they did not get these back in action. I'd have loved to have had the opportunity to see and ride a turbine powered train. Where are they now - did any escape the scrapper's torch?

Where are these train sets? They should be out in service.

I believe they scrapped these all last year (or perhaps it was 2015).

New York sadly scrapped the four trainsets in its possession and auctioned off all of the spare parts. The three completed RTL-III sets, however, still remain at Amtrak's Bear, DE facility. Two of the three sets saw revenue service. I rode aboard the first set, in business class power car #2135, in June 2003. I rode aboard the second set on a New York - Albany run in October 2003, and saw the third completed set sitting at the Albany maintenance facility waiting for an introduction into service that would never come.

They refurbished them and as far as I can remember, never turned a wheel in service, after wasting millions refurbishing them... typical New York government waste
