Might that Budd RDC on the adjoining track be the famous (infamous ?) Rock Island Memphis to Tucumcari NM RDC ? I can't think of any other RDC that would have reason to be in Memphis. That is a trip I really regret not having taken.

I noticed the RDC too and wondered. Certainly isn't Illinois Central. And the Creole came through my hometown when I was a lad. Perhaps it's just been too many years but I don't remember it carrying all those boxcars which I assume were for express traffic. Regardless, nice photo to see. Thank you.
