Have enjoyed seeing everyone of your pictures. And I spot a person on the trestle with a backpack.

Seems word has got around that the trestle at Goat Canyon is a day hike destination. I'm almost tempted to set up a water and snack concession there next Fall.

This trestle is reputed to be the longest wooden trestle in the world. It was featured in a television documentary this month, March, here in the U.K. on one of our numerous repeat channels. It may have been broadcast many times before all over the world. The program was called "Abandoned Megastructures". It was reported that due to complete lack of maintenance, it was very unsafe for any sort of railway load. The nuts and bolts had not been tightened as required and so the holes in the timbers through which they passed had been badly eroded and enlarged. It showed close-ups of the nuts and bolts and the holes shown, maybe hand picked to show the worst, would have allowed the nut and washer to pass through the timber instead of gripping it.
