Really? they sold it for scrap? I'm sure donating it wouldn't have cost them a dime as many museums would have loved to have this in their collection and many of us would have donated to the organization saving it.....

Similar engines are still in regular service in New York and Pennsylvania, but this makes the point that no "park engine" is really safe, even if fenced.
