These look weird to me. They look like heavyweight coaches that have been converted for service on electric lines. Do they have the same maker as the heavyweight coaches?

John, the short answer is yes. These MU cars were built by Pullman Standard, who also built many steam hauled coaches.

The ICRR suburban commuter MU's on the left are not converted from heavyweight coaches, they were built that way originally. They debuted in 1926 when the IC electrified their suburban system.
