I had no idea they were removing the café-in-the-round. Although I'm sorry it's gone the space is much improved.

I remember the 1976 "Pit" right here in the center of the floor when this great building was turned into a "Visitor Center." In the "Pit" you could look at a slide show of all the Washington monuments you could see if you just went out the door. I remember when the reno opened in 1988 and what a breath of fresh air! I was there in April 2016 before the restaurant came down. The thing was, everything still looked great EXCEPT the Amtrak part. There everything was/is grey, dingy, ugly. At least everything else looks great. Looks wonderful Matt.
