Thanks for the info, Bob. Was there a more official name for these locomotives than "Pooches"? They look like the "ugly brother". I guess "Pooches" could be okay.

Thanks Steve. I think they called them "Pooches" because "P30CH" almost looks like the word pooch. This excursion was the only time I saw them. They ended their days on Amtrak's Sunset Limited and Auto Train and in California commuter service around San Francisco and Los Angeles.
