Doesn't seem to be much clearance between the lower skirt and the edge of the platform, or is it just the perspective of the photo?

As I recall from years ago, as a kid, when we used to find our way down to the platform and check out the Pre-Amtrak Florida trains before they departed, this has always been a close fit, necessitating going slowly enough that the cars did not rock. As this image shows, the Amfleet cars were designed to have a bit more clearance.
