Thank you for this photo. This was the site of the the Port Morris Railway whereby the New York Central, Penn Central, Conrail and finally CSX freights went to the freight yard at Oak Point in the east Bronx. The branch began by curving off to the right of the photo (where the platform ends in the photo). The tracks are all gone but there are some reminders of the branch scattered along the former-right-of-way. When the tracks were there, anyone riding Metro-North late at night might see a long freight train waiting for clearance to cross Metro-North tracks and eventually go up the Hudson division towards Croton-Harmon and Albany.
