Warsaw (like other northern Indiana and upper midwest States from Minnesota to Michigan) is dotted with lakes. It appears to ever bypass this location the railroad would have to lay a lot of track around those bodies of water, whereas the track immediately north of this location goes between those lakes. I guess they could close this street, but I've heard at one point NS was actually wanting to double track certain segments of the Marion branch. Hope this street running doesn't go away any time soon.
