Ah, Decatur: from when we lived in Macon, GA, in the 1970s, I still remember ads for "Catch the Decatur Federal savings bug".

I lived about 1 mile from here, as a kid I loved watching trains in the area around this station, the station is still there, I visited Decatur last year it has become very arty and trendy. One time our parents bought us tickets from the Decatur station to Atlanta, it was probably this one the Palmetto. Our Dad followed in his car and we were able to see him some of the way as he drove his Austin Mini. Great memory thanks for posting this I wondered for a long time what train we rode and I think you have answered me.
