Not sure the reason why British Railways rejected blue was due to fading issuers, it didn't remain long enough, more likely it was found impossible to keep looking anything like clean (something the re-branded "British Rail" should have remembered in the mid 1960s when they chose blue as their new corporate colours!), after all the LNER had painted a number of their A4 class in Garter Blue during the 1930s. Oh and John, I really like your work so far, simple, natural and thus very effective -equal to any of the print media published photos I've seen in 50 odd years- in my opinion others should take note...
