The San Fransisco Zephyr ran through Wyoming on UP's Overland route until 1983 when the D&RGW finally joined Amtrak and granted the California Zephyr access through the Rockies. The Original Zephyr was a culmination of the WP, D&RGW, and the CB&Q, but when Amtrak took over they streamlined the route using CB&Q (BN), UP, SP, and D&RGW tracks.
