This is absolutely insane. The way the mountains are lit and how far the stars moved in just a few seconds. Then the darkness of the forest combined with the headlights. Topped off my a great write-up. Insane.

In the South of France in 1899, a tortured Dutch artistic genius called Vincent van Gogh looked out of the barred window of his room in the insane asylum at St-Remy-de-Provence and, over time, painted what he saw outside that window. The painting was called "The Starry Night" and it is without doubt one of the most famous and instantly recognisable works of art in the world.
In the Canadian province of Alberta in 2015, a (hopefully untortured) North American artist called Nick DAmato trekked into the frozen mountains and used his camera and tripod to paint a modern updating of The Starry Night. If this work of photographic art doesn't become as famous as ol' Vincent's masterpiece, there is truly no justice in the world.
On my first trip to NYC as a young man in the 1970s, I gazed upon Van Gogh's painting in the MoMa; now I've seen Mr DAmato's masterwork and my artistic education proceeds apace. Still to come - the Northern Lights and a couple of others. Perhaps I'll see them on RailPictures in due course. :-)

Awesome take on an old classic. Love the description too. I wouldn't say the valley was deserted though. I'm sure there were some animals out there somewhere. Quite brave of you to climb up there at night.
