I was fortunate to ride across this bridge in the mid-80's on a TRHS fan trip from Norfolk to Lynchburg. The 611 pulled into Norfolk a couple of days before the trip with a crack in the crown sheet. NS had to substitute diesels for the trip. To make the somewhat disappointing trip a little more interesting, when we got to Crewe the NS Train Master announced that we would travel across the High Bridge at Farmville. To my recollection, after its return in 1982, the NS never allowed the 611 to cross this bridge. All of the other trips went around the Belt Line south of Farmville. Our trip across this bridge was fantastic!

Wonder what kind of lens is on the drone. There is a lot of "curve" in the horizon.
