While I like the photo and the equipment depicted, I am extremely concerned for the safety of the guard due to the extreme close clearances evident here. I am well aware of what a lens can do in foreshortening distances and that may be a factor here. However, it is obvious this is a permanent installation, and I do not care if "this is the way it has always been done" or if it is a staged event with stationary equipment, the danger of injury or death is far too great. As a heritage railroad volunteer myself, I would refuse to do this.
