I've never seen dual Hancock air whistles on an NYC E-unit....great catch from an era gone by George!

A great photo, George, but that train looks like it did not live up to its name in its final months.

The air whistle is rather unique but the small number boards were normal on all early E7s. This was the fifth E7 the NYC bought. Nice capture of an everyday scene that not many people saw. Am I right that the station had but one platform?

George, I agree with Tom and Marty ... I too, have never seen Hancock air whistles (duals at that) on any NYC E units. I have seen them on a couple of NYC RS3's. After seeing this photo, I have reviewed all of your NYC posts ... great coverage, thanks for posting.

Thanks guys! Yes, I don't recall seeing Hancocks on many E units. Re the train's condition near the end, the consists were shorter, and typically only 2 Es instead of 3. No idea what the onboard experience was like.
