The best railroad job in the country was the manning the Lost and Found in the Hoboken terminal in the days of the old MU's with rattan seats. The girls whose panty hose got snagged would go up to the counter to complain. The EL didn't waste time making them fill out a claim. All the girl had to do was show the clerk the snag and he would reach into a fiber board bin and pull out a new pair and hand it to the lady. You can imagine where most of the snags were.
