Nice photo, Mike and I always appreciate an informative write-up.

I guess they think it's cheaper to repaint than wash their power.

At Thousands of dollars per locomotive, no mistakes can be made. These painters make the locos look as awesome as they do. Thanks for the photo & write-up, Mike. Such info is well received.

I knew this would happen one day. All the old UP gevos I saw numbered in the 5200 series to the 5600 series were really dirty and the flags on most of them were faded

Nick, these are Brand New GE locos, not old gevos!

Steve: Actually, Nick is correct. No. 5401 was built in 2005, and is seen here getting repainted after a rebuild.

Thanks again, Mike. I needed to be corrected. I will try & put better educated comments on here from now on. Sorry for any hurt feelings, Nick.

Mike & Nick, If I am correct, isn't a GEVO a GE evolution style loco or GEVO? Correct me if I am still wrong, but I think I finally have it figured out. Thanks for your patience to put up with an ignorant new rail fan.

Yep. "Gevo" Means GE Evolution. ;)
