You know, looking at steam being cut up was so heartbreaking, I never thought I would ever feel the same way to diesels or even electrics. And yet seeing this is just awful. Imagine the millions of miles it travelled, the tens of thousands of people it hauled, all the work maintenance crews did so it worked perfectly, the skillful actions of engineers controlling this machine. Now that is all over. I never thought I would feel this way for the GG-1's conqueror.

Unlike the GG1s, however, the preserved AEM-7 could be let out of Strasburg and operated on a fan trip sometime down the road.

Unfortunately the 915 that's in The railroad museum of PA will never run. Unless it comes back to Wilmington. All the traction motors are non operable. And the air compressor is also no go. The goal was to put together a full AEM7. Not a running AEM7.
