Whats up with the ex-Reading loco, it says it's 6759 on the front and 5306 on the back.

Love this pic. Doug, this is awesome. Did all EL doors differ in color from the rest of the boxcar? Good catch on the double numbered Reading loco. It must depend on which end shows up first.

I believe that is a PennCentral Alco C630 to the right of the 6724. Notice were there number is on the reading both the ex LV and ex PC have reporting marks not numbers. I am thinking the number on the Reading was it Reading road number and was just overlooked since it appears that plate was used for reporting marks not road numbers. Mr. Lilly what a wonderful picture. You captured so much in just this one frame it is amazing

5306 was the original Reading number. 6759 was its Conrail number.

Steve, My thought is that more likely that EL boxcar had its door replaced at a PC car shop. I recall most all EL car doors being the same color as the main body.

That caboose is also along way from "home", as its low cupola and window arrangement lead me to believe it is ex-New Haven.
